“CHURCH-IN-A-HOME” MINISTRY
Real Meaning of The Word Church:
The word “Church” (or “Churches”) is found in over 100 places in the New Testament. They do not mean a building, as church buildings. The original Greek word is Ekklesia (ek-klay-see-ah) and means; a calling out, a popular meeting, a religious congregation, community of members on earth, assembly. Hence, if you and others choose to assemble in a home instead of a corporate-church building to talk about God, fine. If someone has a problem with that…it’s their problem.
Provide to Others
From the 7th Course, with pages of your choice make selected excerpts copies; but in the interest of time use just one subject per meeting to share the “Mission Of Truth” revealed within, “OUR GREAT CALLING” Hope For Beyond. Then printout on two white-paper sheets (on one side only of each), page-1 and page-2, and take to any print shop and have them produce the Cards in your color choice; or have a few card-stock copies made and cut your own Cards using the existing cutout markings for consistency. If you do not have a paper cutter, the print shops will let you use theirs.
In-Home-Ministry
How you conduct it is your call, but 1 to 1½-hour meetings is about right for the average attention span; though some may want to go overtime. Also, in this setting a round-seated format is inviting and effective. After giving a 30-minute or so study from an excerpt, open it up for discussion. It’s good to let them talk and ask questions; so you should be familiar with your 7th Course to have answers. Also, it’s helpful to know the table of contents (pages iii-vii) for finding subjects quickly, or at least to know answers are available and provide them the following week.
